Luca Schrammel
Hello! My name is Luca Barton Schrammel, I go as BlueBoyo. I am an artist living in the Bay Area, where I grew up in San Francisco and now reside in Redwood City. From a young age, I have had a passion for creating art and skateboarding. I vividly remember the sparks of joy I felt in school from both creating art and hanging out with house painters, often covering my walls and arms in color.
Skateboarding has played a significant role in my life, as I fell in love with the movement it embodies. To me, skateboarding is a dance of art, where each trick and turn is infused with creativity and expression. This fiery energy translates into my paintings, reflecting the dynamic flow of human movement and perspectives that empower our souls.
I can only navigate my days with a strong visual connection to the world around me. I remember everything visually, and I find inspiration in the visions that guide me forward. Visual creation serves as my connection to the universe and a higher power. My goal in life is to showcase the burning joy of human movement through my art, and I promise to use it as a force for change in the world.
The Art
My artwork serves as an intimate extension of my spirit, illuminating the intricate tapestry of human experiences that unfold around us. Through a dream-like lens, I portray the people and situations I encounter, transforming ordinary moments into extraordinary reflections of life. Each piece embodies a journey—a collision of inspiration and emotion—inviting viewers to explore their own thoughts and feelings as they navigate my visions.
I aim to create a powerful force that inspires mental and spiritual clarity, allowing my audience to find confidence and solace in the rush of colors and shapes that surround them. My choice of minimal contrasting colors emphasizes the strong differences in forms and lines, leading to a sense of familiarity intertwined with the supernatural.
Working primarily with mixed media, I embrace a blend of abstract expressionism, using acrylic paint, oil sticks, and spray paint to build layers of depth and texture. My large-scale paintings envelop the viewer in a world that is at once recognizable yet distinctly otherworldly.
I draw inspiration from various art movements, intertwining the principles of expressionism, surrealism, and cubism to challenge perceptions and provoke thought. This fusion allows me to weave together multiple perspectives, guiding the viewer through an uncharted emotional landscape. Each piece captures the essence of a world untamed and invites you to lose yourself within it.
